We raise funds to support the Neonatal Unit to improve care for sick & premature babies

Story

Hi All,

Liam and Mark are running the Fleet Half Marathon on Sunday 21st March to raise money for the St Peter's Neonatal ICU, where their nephew Oliver was born on 15th Jan 2010 at only 24 weeks. For those of you who are friends or family of Liam, Mark, Emma-Jayne or Gavin will know about their recent addition to the family and how Oliver Richard Smith was born prematurely weighing just 640 grams.

The specialist unit at St Peter's hospital have been wonderful, their equipment and specially trained staff have ensured that Oliver has received outstanding care and is now weighing over 1kg and putting more weight on each week. Without this unit Oliver's chances would have been much slimmer so we would like to raise some money for the hospital to buy additional specialist equipment to help other babies like Oliver.  For example each neonatal intensive care cot costs in the region of £80,000 to fully equip and that is just the start of the equipment required.

So now we get to your part! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank You, If you would like to keep up to date with Oliver's progress please view his blog at http://www.oliver15jan10.blogspot.com/
