We're raising £2.5m to support the building of a new cancer centre. This will transform cancer care for patients, their families and the staff who treat them at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for an amazing new purpose-built cancer centre opening in early 2020.  This new centre will transform cancer care for MK patients, their families and the staff who treat them.

The money I raise will be for some of the things that the NHS cannot afford to put into the Centre, which we feel are essential for cancer patients, and their families to be comfortable, whether living with or battling this awful disease. 

Here are some of the items your support will help us contribute towards, basics I feel:

  • Beds for a loved one overnight 
  • Reclining chemotherapy chairs for the 4 A&E style assessment bays
  • Upholstered waiting chairs – for those waiting for treatments
With Milton Keynes being one of the fastest growing areas in the UK it deserves to get an all singing, dancing cancer unit with your help.

We are delighted the new Centre will provide dedicated cancer services under one roof in a first-rate environment, which hasn’t always been the case recently. Including:
  • New cancer patients A&E
  • New 24 bed inpatient ward, incl. 16 single en-suite rooms
  • New Macmillan Information centre named after my sister-in-law  Irene Crosswell
  • Holistic and therapy treatment rooms
  • Increased capacity and staffing 
  • A light, modern, spacious and uplifting environment
Your donation will not replace NHS funding but will be used to provide supporting facilities and to make sure this is an exemplar of good practice, and a centre worthy of the people of Milton Keynes.

We raise funds for all wards and departments at Milton Keynes University Hospital, enhancing the experience of patients, their families and staff. All the money raised funds items over and above NHS provision. By supporting us you can make a real difference to local people when they need it most.
