Story
In October 2011 I will be taking part in a trek in China to raise money and awareness of the plight of the Moon Bears which are kept in tiny coffin like cages for decades. Bears are milked for their bile which is used in traditional Chinese medicines, toiletries and even wine. There are alternatives to bile which are much healthier and less expensive with no cruelty to bears involved.
Bears are robbed of everything and have no quality of life and are literally a bile machine. Housed in cages in the dark for years where they are continually abused day after day until they can no longer produce bile and then are left to starve to death.
I have done a sky dive, a trek through Northern Vietnam and have taken part in a trek up Cadair Idris. I am not young or adventurous but I am dedicated to bringing this dreadful trade in bear bile to an end.
To take part in this trek I have to raise £1500 or more for the Moon Bears. Despite the recession I am paying my own expenses so every penny I raise will go to help the bears and improve the lives of cats and dogs across Asia. This trek is not a holiday it will be 8 or 9 hours hard trekking a day through very difficult terrain but every step is for the Moon Bears.
The bile trade is one of horror which no bear should ever have to face. 20 minutes in a traffic jam try 20 years in a cage. Please help bears like Jonah above so no bear has to go through what he has.
Thank you for your continued support.
