Story
I've done it ! (and here are the photos to prove it)
The whole team completed the Eilat Triathlon last Friday. My time was 3 hours 46 mins. Not bad for a first time, old man like myself !
Now I've done my bit please try and do yours. If you haven't already, please make a donation to help Kisharon.
For those of you who have already donated and are just back to see the photos - many thanks for all your help. Your donations and support for Kisharon have made all the effort over the last few months worthwhile.
You've all been fantastic. Both I and Kisharon are extremely grateful for your generosity.
Thanks again
Lionel
It's finally my turn to get active and do something for a very worthwhile charity.
On November 20th I'll be taking part in the 2009 Israel Triathlon in Eilat to support Kisharon.
Just for fun I'll be taking part in the full Olympic distance event. That is a 1.5km open water swim in the Red Sea, followed by a 40km cycle through the Eilat desert, finishing with (and it probably will finish me) a 10km run.
For those of you who don't know Kisharon, I've included a few words about them below but just take my word for it .... They are a fantastic and very worthwhile Charity.
So please dig deep and donate now !
Thanks in advance for your support and donations. Every bit helps - Lionel
Established more than 30 years ago Kisharon is an inspirational, local charity that provides education and care for Jewish children and adults with learning difficulties and special educational needs. Learning disabilities, by definition, have a lasting effect on development. These individuals and their families require ongoing support throughout their lives. They cannot cope without this support. Kisharon is their lifeline. Kisharon started as a school but today provides a broad portfolio of services including the school, an adult college, structured employment in a printing business and cycle shop as well as a residential home. Through these services Kisharon is able to support individuals with learning difficulties and their families at each and every stage their life.
Like many charities, Kisharon constantly struggles with it's financial position. In the current environment I appreciate how difficult it is to meet all the charitable calls made on you but I ask you to help me support Kisharon and enable it to continue with it's fantastic work.
