Story
Thelma is a beautiful crossbreed girl who was imported from Romania by another rescue into the UK. She was then placed into a foster home that she escaped from and Greyhound Gap were asked alongside Lost Dog Capture Team to help re secure her. On the day that Thelma was trapped she was bought back to Greyhound Gap safely until the other rescue could take her back. Sadly it was quickly seen that Thelma had serious issues with her back legs and a vet check confirmed exactly that. Thelma had one ruptured cruciate and the other one is not looking good. After talks with Thelmas importing rescue it was quickly ascertained that they could not afford to give Thelma the surgery that she absolutely needed and her future once again was precarious and hanging in the balance. At that point Greyhound Gap knew there was only one thing they could do and that was to get Thelma released into their care so they could do what was necessary. The cost is being greatly reduced for us once again by the wonderful Al Mayo at Nantwich veterinary hospital to £2000 a leg and we are hoping once one is fixed we may be able to get the other strong enough to avoid surgery. On Wednesday this week Thelma will have her operation regardless this little dog who was promised so much then left with so little is a happy go luckly loving girl and she deserves the chance of the new life she should already have been undertaking.
Thank you in advance to anyone who is kind enough to donate. Without your generosity we can not continue to do the work we do and to make a difference to the likes of Thelma.
If by chance of a miracle we are lucky enough to raise more than what is necessary the money will be used for other dogs in our cares veterinary costs.
