Once upon a time in the darkest corners of the village of Ailsworth, Lisa Kelly, a fun loving, wine swilling, party loving slightly overweight, middle aged old bird decided it was time to set herself a 'challenge of a lifetime' and.....................drum roll.....................RUN THE 2010 LONDON MARATHON FOR THE PARKINSON'S DISEASE SOCIETY'!!!!!!!!!!!!! (cue for uproarous laughter!)

Why run for the PDS? Over the years I've seen first hand how awful PD can be through friends, parents of friends, nursing PD patients, and even sailing boats on the high seas with PD sufferers.  I am constantly humbled by the spirit and determination of these amazing people to continue with their lives and not let PD get the better of them - if they can do this - surely running a marathon and raising a bit of dosh is a piece of cake (i wish)??  The funds raised through the PDS really do go a big way to improving the lives of these people as well as supporting vast amounts of research to look at new and improved ways of helping to alleviate the symptoms and essentially look towards a cure to PD. 

If I pledge to put in the miles and keep on running till I hit the finish line (not literally hopefully) of the 2010 London Marathon on the 25th April, then please, please, please can you pledge to donate towards this truly deserving cause?  or even better donate and pass this link on to anyone that may know me or feel inclined to donate??
