I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis in November 2012. It is a very rare neurological condition that affects the spinal cord. I was paralysed from the neck down, spent 10 weeks in hospital and had months of Physiotherapy to learn to walk again. I was one of the lucky ones and made a full recovery, two thirds of sufferers don’t. 

The Transverse Myelitis Society provided us with crucial support and advice during a very traumatic time. We are keen to help the society to continue with their work in helping others and funding research into effective treatment.
