Story
Hello friends, family and colleagues!
Having never run a marathon before, the prospect of pounding the streets of for 26.2 miles whilst wearing lycra is pretty daunting to say the least!
To make this test of physical endurance worthwhile, I will be raising money for an important cause. My brother, Lee died suddenly at the age of 33 whilst out cycling on 12th March 2001. He suffered a cardiac arrest at the roadside, the paramedics were unable to resuscitate him. It was since discovered that the cause of his death was Cardiomyopathy.
The Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA) is a registered charity that helps people and their families affected by the rare and potentially fatal, heart muscle condition, cardiomyopathy. The CMA meets a need unfulfilled by any other organisation and is supported solely by public donation.
Training for a marathon is an achievement in itself as I've recently learned! I'm currently running more than 30 miles per week, many of these miles are done at silly o' clock before work in the morning with my running buddy Gemma (and sometimes Darrell when he gets up)! My personal challenge is to finish the race in under 4hours and 30 mins.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. All donations are very gratefully received.
