Story

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in this project.

Listen to Your Daughters’ is a short zine created by a group of independent cartoonists from the UK after the death of Sarah Everard and the police response to her murder. It was initially conceived as a
rejection of the suppression of women-led protests against gendered violence. We wanted to put together a small zine collecting together comics and art expressing some of our thoughts, which readers can pay whatever they want for, with all proceeds going directly to Housing for Women: https://hfw.org.uk/

Since making this zine, the situation has become more dire, with an increase in racially motivated attacks against Asian women in the UK adding to the already extortionately high attacks perpetrated against women of colour generally. We hope that this zine can in some way provide more safe spaces for those identifying as women and fleeing violence, and that it contributes in some small way towards opening up the conversation about gender rights in the UK.

To receive a copy of our zine by email, simply make a donation on this page, and a link to it will be sent with your receipt.

The zine includes 32 pages of art and comics by:

  • Stephanie Bazin
  • Laura Elliott
  • Julie Innes
