Cancer is a health issue that affects everyone. For example, 3 of my 4 grandparents have had it, though all 3 have been lucky enough to be cared for in the USA where treatment options are more accessible. However, not everyone is so fortunate. Each year, 14 million people are diagnosed with cancer and 8 million of them do not survive it. This is a massive percentage of the world population and the situation will not improve without continued research.

Worldwide Cancer Research is a charity that funds all types of cancer research, on a global scheme. WCR is focused on fundamental cancer research, the first stage that is crucial to understanding the cause of cancer. To make things better, all money donated goes straight to the projects, as WCR does not waste any money on advertising, that's what I'm here for! It may not be so well known because of this, but WCR is highly prestigious among scientists worldwide. Because the charity helps fund projects all around the world, you're helping fund cancer research that goes on 24/7! 

 After studying Biology for almost 2 years now, I have seen how important it is to improve our knowledge of how cancer works. Only continued funding of research can help us find a cure, and when each project on average costs £180,000, every little bit helps! So I've chosen to run a marathon (more than 26 miles!!)  in the name of Worldwide Cancer Research, but I can only do it with your help. Please help me raise my target of 1,100£ by donating on this page :) xx
