We provide information and support to those affected by CGD

Story

On Sunday 25th April, I will be wearing number 10, 258 & joining 35,000 other runners to pound the streets of London, in this year's Virgin London Marathon. This will be my 4th marathon & this year I have decided to run in memory of 2 friends, Stephen & Andrew and raise money for their charities; Brain Tumour UK & CGD Research.

By coming to this site, you have opted to donate your sponsorship to the CGD Research Trust in memory of Andrew Numan.

In March 2009, Andrew, aged only 29, died from a life long battle with Chronic Granulomatous Disorder is a rare, chronic genetic condition which affects four in a million people. People with CGD have a faulty bone marrow gene, which means that certain white blood cells do not function correctly, affecting their immune system. The CGD Research Trust funds ground breaking research into the treatment of genetic disorders to understand gene therapy. The charity provides support to families, provides funding for dedicated nurse and clinical psychology support services, as well as run & organise their high profile and very successful national “Jeans for Genes” Campaign. For more information, please go to http://www.cgd.org.uk

So I need your help ... I need you to dig deep & sponsor me! Please. Your sponsorship will spur me on through the last leg of my training schedule and will give me belief that I have the ability to finish the 26.2 miles. Your donation really will make a difference to me, as well as the charities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the CGD Research Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I can be contacted at Lizzy.Bennett@Cadbury.com or Lizzy.Bennett@London2012.com

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you for your support, Lizzy
