Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In November 2019, my son, Noah Llyr was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome FSGS. 10 Years earlier, my father was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, minimal change disease.

Since Noah's diagnosis, we have been provided with support from NEST and families affected by this condition from across the UK. There is currently no known cure for nephrotic syndrome. Noah is medicated by two types of immunosuppressive medication and a blood pressure medicine, which he takes daily.

NEST was founded by a gentleman who's son was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome. NEST are working hard behind the scenes in trying to find a cure and work with establishments across the globe in doing so.

For 90 days, February 2021 to May 2021, we will be undertaking a series of challenges that take us outside of our comfort zone alongside setting up donation points for NEST on Anglesey.

The challenges will involve friends and family to share some of the work and ambition in succeeding. We are in the process of developing a timetable of events that we will do.

With every penny NEST raises as a Charity, this is invested into medical research with the inevitable aim of finding a cure. They also support families new to diagnosis and those who have been diagnosed for some time.

NEST is a national charity with a localised approach.  I am aware of several families on Anglesey & North Wales affected by nephrotic syndrome.

Noah in himself is doing well. He is full of life and mischief and fancies himself a professional gamer.

If you can help by offering a challenge or donation, please do - your support means the World to us as a family and the NEST family.

Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.
