Story

We took part in the Lombard 24 Peaks Challenge on 14/07/2007 to raise money for the National Deaf Children’s Society (http://www.ndcs.org/) and would really welcome your support.

The challenge was to climb 24 peaks in the Lake District within 24 hours – a flat linear distance of 31.9 miles with over 14,300 ft. of climb thrown in for good measure (just under half the height of Everest) – plus, of course, a similar amount of descent! Despite foul weather on the Saturday, we all made it to the finish.

Our team is aiming to raise a minimum of £5,000 to support the society's work in helping deaf children and their families to cope with their disability and live a full and active life in a hearing World. We are one of four Lombard teams this year who between them hope to raise at least £20,000 for the NDCS.
