THANK YOU ALL

Many, many thanks to all of you who donated, both on-line and off. Off-line donors include:

The Worshipful Company of Management Consultants, Paulette Joseph, Peter Linstead-Smith, Jack Petchey, Patrick Thompson, David Waters, Ted Main, Tim Hennessey, Tim Adams, Barry Paddison, Leslie Stowe.

Your generosity has helped make all of the pain (and there was plenty!) worthwhile. Thanks also to Sandra Rowse (www.sandrarowsephotography.com) for being skilful enough to create photos that almost make us look good.

In case you wanted to know, our times were:

Paul (the fit, fast one) - 04:42:44

Cliff (the fat, knackered one) - 06:24:21

Owen (the currently crippled one) - 06:47:13

It's not too late to donate! A little more toward our total might just help ease the blisters, pulled muscles, strained ligaments and general soreness.

The Sea Cadets is a nationwide voluntary youth organisation, open to young people aged 12 to 18, Marine Cadets for young people aged 13 to 18 and with Junior Sections open to those of 10 to 12 years of age, run by enthusiastic adult volunteers. The volunteers provide a much needed service to young people in their communities, helping them to gain BTec, DofE and other nationally recognised awards that can help them toward employment and responsible, fulfilling adulthood. Each of the 45 Units in London and Essex relies heavily on charitable donations to keep them running - unlike the other cadet forces, who receive significant Ministry of Defence funding.

Paul, Cliff and Owen all work full time for the parent charity, The Marine Society and Sea Cadets, and are always looking for ways to raise much needed funds to benefit the cadets and adults who so badly need them to ensure that The Sea Cadets in London and Essex continue to receive the very best in equipment and training.

This year's mad marathon effort is aimed at raising money to fund the purchase of a mobile publicity vehicle for use at fetes and events around the Area to raise awareness of the Sea Cadets, and introduce even more young people and adults to the Sea Cadet world.

Paul ran last year, but Cliff and Owen are marathon novices - your donation would be just the incentive and encouragement they need to make it to the finish!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we'll raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

It really is an excellent cause, so please dig deep and donate whatever you can - every little helps!
