Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 21st September I will embark on a journey to swim 5K, cycle 190 miles and run 26.2 miles - all in the space of four days.  I undertake this adventure with my fellow 'Windies' - a bunch of locals, with more Lycra than common sense and thirst for adventure.

Although the swim should be a walk-in- the-park (or dip-in-the-pond) after this Sunday, I have gone from a reluctant cyclist to someone who has fully embraced the carbon-framed-fashion-fest and and am the proud owner of at least two pairs of padded bib-shorts and several pots of bottom butter.  I reckon I have completed nearly 1000 miles of training on the road this year and have cycled over 900 miles in my kitchen on a static bike using virtual cycling app called Zwift.  I. am. ready.

The running - well, I've got two legs and full day - I'll get round.

I have lost too many people close to me through Cancer.  Family members, friends and colleagues.  Great people.  Much missed. 

Part of the reason why I challenge myself with these events is because I can.  Cancer strikes suddenly and indiscriminately.  I do this challenge as I have lost friends through Cancer who I know would have done it with me.
