Story

I am asking anyone and everyone I know and even your friends and family to and so on... Please please please help my little girl in her mission of kindness!

For a very long time now Khloe-Jaay has been wanting to donate her beautiful long, curly hair to a poorly princess that has lost theirs due to cancer treatment.

I’ve always said maybe but now the time has come! We as parents weren’t sure but now seems the best time as ever because our cousin, Charlie, the most bravest boy I have ever met, is again, going through treatment and is starting to lose his hair!

He has dealt and deals with more than most adults do and always does in such a brave way... he blows all our minds and we just want to show him how proud we all are of him and how brave we know he is! So I’m going to be brave, along side my darling daughter, who’s idea this all is! We will both be cutting a 10 inch (minimum) ponytail and donating our hair to the Little Princess’s Trust. The Princess Trust make wigs for poorly little girls going through treatment who experience hair loss as a side effect.

As this is so close to home we would like to ask you all to sponsor us. We want to raise awareness and show you what children go through! We want to raise money for the Magical Taxi Tours that take poorly children (some with limited time) on a trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris. 100 black taxis take 100’s of children and their families in convoy on the ferry for the weekend. They receive extra special treatment in Disney and personally get to meet the characters. It’s an all expense paid for trip that Charlie, his mum and brother were privileged to go on last year. In Charlie’s words, “it was amazing!” But as you can imagine they rely on donations for this trip to happen so that’s why we’re asking for your support and generosity.
Read below so can get an understanding of our Charlie’s story, all what he’s been through and battled against. I’m sure you’ll understand why this is so important to us!

“Charlie was diagnosed with a grade 2 Oligoastrocytoma brain tumour when he was just 8 months old (19/02/19) after having seizures as a baby.
The first operation (03.05.12) was a success, after 8 hours in surgery the surgeon was confident that he had removed 99% of the tumour behind the part of the brain that he had to cut out to reach it. After that day, Charlie hasn’t had a seizure since. He had regular scans and all was well until the tumour had returned (23.04.14). Doctors decided Charlie would need to complete an 18 months course of chemotherapy.
Charlie had just turned 3 years old when a port was put in his chest; this was to administer chemo, take regular bloods etc. He named this his ‘wiggly.’ Chemo started a week later (23.06.14), he was on two different chemos, Carboplatin and Vincristine. This made him tired and sick, he lost most of his hair and it effected his muscles. MRI scans throughout chemo showed that the tumour was shrinking and finally had gone by the time he’d finished treatment. He was in remission again!
After regular scans, all was well until he ‘relapsed’ again. The tumour had returned (21.09.16) and only six weeks later Charlie was being operated on again (03.11.16). He was in surgery for 6 hours, the surgeon removed more of his brain and what he thought was all of the tumour.
Charlie had been clear of disease for the longest time of his life until we found out again in July (04.07.19) this year that it had returned for the third time. He is currently on weekly chemotherapy treatment again and will be on it for at least one year. The consultant has confirmed that he thinks the chemo will only keep it under control this time, and is delaying time before they think Charlie is older and strong enough for radiotherapy or proton beam therapy.”

It gives sick children a break from therapy and treatment giving them a three day break in Disneyland Resort Paris. They are transported in a convoy of London Taxis. The families would not be able to undertake a trip alone, it is by the medical support available that enable them to do so.
