Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 25th feb this year my dad was taken to hospital after feeling unwell and had lack of energy. He was diagnosed with liver cancer and the next day we were told it was lung cancer that had spread to his liver. He had only 1-2 weeks to live. Some cancers just don’t show symptoms until it is far to late.
Thursday that week we brought him home and with the help from St Barnabas at home hospice care we were able to care for him at home and we were able to look after him and be with him until he passed away peacefully at 10.25pm on Sunday 3rd March. Only 7days after diagnosis.
My family and I can’t thank St Barnabas enough for being able to bring him home and to help us care for him. They also cared for us and made sure we were ok, fully informed and had everything we needed. It was such a shocking week for all of us but St Barnabas made it so much easier for us. Every little detail was taken care of and thought of by all the lovely nurses and carers. They continue to look after us and offer amazing support for bereaved family’s.
I can’t ever repay St Barnabas for all they have given my family. We asked for money instead of flowers and already raised £712 for them in my dads name and he would be so proud to know he achieved this. I would like to run this 10k in what would be almost my dads 69th birthday and would appreciate any sponsorship as little or as much as you can. If I can help St Barnabas to give the same care to another family then this would mean so much to me.
I haven’t run 10k before and this will be my first race event - it’s only a few weeks away but I am back running now after a few weeks off and I know he will be there with me on the day pushing me along.
Thank you all I n advance much love
Lou xx
