Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since losing Mark, I have taken part in various runs for sponsorship, mainly the Walk for Life for cancer research, a couple of 10K's for Thames Valley Hospice and a 10K for WAY (Widowed and Young). I must confess I will never get a personal best to match Mark's brilliance, but it is nice to remember Mark the runner as I complete the courses.

Last year Lydia and Amelia joined me in returning to  Windsor and we took part in the first Twilight Walk 10K for the Brain Tumour Society whilst I was 7 months pregnant with Myrtle to celebrate and remember Mark as he would have turned 50.

Now, after the last 6 months of light training and competing in 10K local races for fun I have entered the Great South Run as part of my training for the London marathon next year, where I will also be raising funds in memory of Mark.

26th April 2015 will be a memorable date, as I will be running my first marathon at the same age that Mark was when he lost his battle and it will also be my last chance of running one before turning 40! He also ran the London marathon twice but I don't think I will be matching his time of 3 hours 40!
