Story
A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SPONSORED ME FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROSITY. WE DID IT! Knowing I had your support was a huge motivation in those low moments especially going up Snowdon.
I have signed up to do the Three Peaks Challenge on 8-9 August with 7 friends - Sarah, Elaine, Alex, Dr Sarah, Charlotte, Helen and Woolley - the only thing that's keeping me going is that I'll be raising money in memory of my mother who died from cancer in 2002 and all those suffering from cancer today.....please help me to do that, to help today's victims of this terrible disease and remember and support your loved ones.
We'll be climbing the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. Starting with Ben Nevis, then heading south for Scafell Pike and finishing at Snowdon. Overall we'll be walking 40km, during which we'll be climbing a total of almost 3,000 vertical metres. Between the peaks there's a total of 480 miles driving. The challenge is all the more tough as the aim is to complete it all within 24 hours!
We're raising money for UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation which is the main fundraising charity for key research, building and equipment projects across all University College London Hospitals (UCLH). Their main focus is currently on cancer. In August 2009 they start construction to increase their space dedicated to cancer care 4-fold, focusing on complex care and integrating services, teaching and care with the aim of improving the prospects of the 1 in 3 people that are or will suffer cancer during their lifetime or die.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me - UCL Hospitals Charitable Foundation gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So PLEASE sponsor me now and let me know if you are making a donation in someone's memory. Thank you.
