Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have already hosted my main fundraising event - a dinner and dance close to where I live - but have opened this page in response to the many requests from people who cannot attend the dinner but who wish to sponsor me and I am hugely grateful.

Having witnessed my sister and many close friends conquer the London Marathon - and every year standing on the sidelines waving frantically without an ounce of regret that I am not doing the work - I decided that 2010 was the year to change that and take on the challenge....

Admittedly this was a lot to do with a moment of madness when I applied but I was also spurred on by the suffering and subsequent loss of someone very close to my family in 2009 to cancer and how much the disease has plagued my family and the families of many of my friends so far in my lifetime.

St Francis Hospice is a charity that is very close to my heart having cared for family members and the level of service offered to terminally ill patients and their families is truly invaluable. Every year the hospice needs around £6.5 million to continue with its work and relies upon the generosity and foresight of people to make donations. Just £5 pays for a patients hospice meals for one day, £10 pays for a patients clinical supplies and £20 pays for play therapy for a child facing the loss of a parent or close family member.

Any donation you feel that you can give me will help to make every leap, step and crawl towards the 26-mile point on April 25th more worthwhile whilst also helping to keep such an amazing charity alive.

Thank you!
