Story
Did you know that every hour another person in the UK loses their sight?
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association help and support people in maintaining their independence so they can live their lives to the fullest. Not only do working dogs support their owners in living their day to day lives, they offer companionship and a whole lot of love.
It costs only £5 a day to support a working guide dog partnership. That’s a couple of coffees, a pint (unless you’re in good old Wetherspoons), or that unnecessary Uber to the next pub that’s a 5 minute walk away (lazy sods).
I'm running the Great North Run, and both my mum and I are doing Tough Mudder in aid of this incredible charity. We're trying to raise over £300, which would help fund a partnership for 60 days. That’s 60 days of independence, support and confidence for a person suffering with sight loss.
Give that extra pint a miss tonight (you’ll thank me in the morning), skip the extra coffee, or walk instead of jumping in an Uber, and help support me in my quest to raise awareness and in supporting those with sight loss by donating your spare cash. I promise to cross both finish lines, even if I have to crawl!
