Story

UPDATE - 31 July 2010

I have just arrived back home from Malawi this morning after an absolutely amazing three weeks out there. I met some of the nicest, most welcoming people and the experience was one that words can hardly describe. The village of Chillingani is such a beautiful village and it was a pleasure building a classroom so the children could get a better education.  In Malawi the team worked hard on the project and we managed to finish the project just in time for the opening ceremony!!

I will never forget the amazing experience that I had in Malawi and I wish to thank everyone for their support that they have shown once more.

Tsalani Abwino! (Stay well!)

Regards

UPDATE - 15 June 2010

This time next month I will be in Malawi working hard on the project and  I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for the generous support shown by donating money to this worthy cause and I hope that you all enjoyed the Wine and Cheese evening and the (rather long!) raffle.  The total was also boosted by a kind donation from C Brewer and Sons Ltd which has taken me over my target but I am still continuing to add to the total!

Thanks again to everyone for your generosity which is very much appreciated and I am really looking forward to my trip and being able to update you all again on my return!

Muli Bwanji!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page on behalf of Joshua Orphan Care Trust.

This July I am off to Malawi as part of the Hurstpierpoint College expedition to work with rural communities helping them improve the living conditions for orphans and vulnerable children.  Our specific task is to renovate a classroom block, construct a latrine and design a play area/football pitch for the children of Chilingani, who currently have limited areas for activities.

After two and a bit weeks  hard graft, we plan to trek up Mount Mulanje, Malawi’s highest peak (3000m) and also go on a short two day safari in the Liwonde National Park to complete the experience.

I would very much appreciate your support for this charity and hope that you will be able to give generously for those less fortunate than ourselves.  All donations go directly to the charity - this fund raising is not to pay for my travel expenses!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any donation would be very much appreciated - Zikomo!
