Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

In a bid to recapture my glory days as a cross country runner for my secondary school I'm running the London Marathon 2010. I've been wanting to run it for two years now but haven't got into the ballot. Rumours that the pro runners didn't want the competition and refused to run if I did are rife on the running circuit. Not to be perturbed I'm in training (natural talent can only get you so far) and records may indeed be broken. I'm aiming to replicate the phenomenal success of Paula Radcliffe at the marathon, and if that means taking a toilet break on the streets of London then so be it.

Luckily my great friend and rival Jon Rudland and I have guaranteed a place through the charity for deafblind people Sense, as long as we both raise £1400. It's a great charity that everyone should know about, they've been about since 1955 and are doing all they can to prevent deafblindness in people as well as helping those that are ufortunately already suffering from it. I can only imagine how bad it must be to not only lose your hearing but also your sight. So take a look at their website http://www.sense.org.uk/ and also if you can, make a donation here. Every penny counts and any donation is greatly appreciated, and not only that you get to see my sexy legs tearing through the streets of London on 25th April 2010. Remember I won't be able to run unless I raise £1400!

Thanks

Luke
