Story

What better way to 'celebrate' being the big 50 this year than going a 100k bike ride round London in the dark with my friend Sarah and over 1,000 other women.  I haven't been on a 'proper' bike (I don't think that a spinning bike counts) for about 30 years so this will be a huge challenge for me.  The reason why I'm doing it - well without other people taking part in charity events like this the outcome to my story might have been very different but here I am 4 years later fit and healthy and want to play my part in raising money so that someone else can have a happy ending like I did and be here to watch their family grow up, like my adorable but very cheeky son Joshua.  This is the 1st time in my life that I have ever done anything like this so you will all be safe for another 50 years before I ask you to sponsor me again.  Thanks for your support. xxx Well the wait is over and the bike ride is tomorrow, here's to a large one hopefully waiting for me when I have completed the ride with the lovely Mrs Smith.

The donations you make to Women v Cancer will be distributed equally between them. The cycle challenges are organised and managed by Dream Challenges – www.dream-challenges.com.
