Here we go again!! Team 41 (Now 64) rides again. Yes we’re up for the gruelling MAC 4x4 challenge all over again. Driven to fundraise by the continuing Big C stories we hear of in our everyday lives and through our very own experiences. 

Mum/Nana lost a long battle with Liver cancer back in 2002 we still miss your cooking Nana, imagine the cakes you would of cooked for us to keep us going on the challenge!!

Great Grannie lived to a fabulous age of 95 but we sadly lost her in 2009 not through old age but cancer again, Grannie was determined to get that telegram from the Queen!!!And then more recently Lyn Joyce a fantastic lady and my mother in law sadly missed and taken so quickly by a brain tumour. 

So to say we have first hand experience of Macmillan nurses and what they do, they really are special. It’s a fantastic charity helping all members of the family through these terrible times and that’s why we continue to fundraise.

The challenge just because we’re not running or cycling doesn’t mean we don’t get injuries or suffer pain we do…

5 years, yes 5 years of sleeping in the cold/wet climate of the UK in early March is a challenge and so is the driving/navigating. How many can map read (accurately) answer questions and look for clues whilst driving along a bumpy track blocking out the travel sickness feeling. It takes practice and patience.

Yes Father and daughter do argue but food usually resolves these issues and finding out where we are on the map also helps. Then there’s the lack of sleep!! Trying to sleep in a car with what sounds like a freight train going past every 10 seconds is no fun when you’re tired. Yes DAD you do snore!!

Again Macmillan is a fantastic charity so dig deep and we’ll keep you informed of how much we’re suffering!!! Oh just as incentive to donate that extra £5 we're only £1500 short of reaching our first £5000 goal for the event, thats just our team not the whole event thats nearly close to a £1 million.
