The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 15th of March 2015 I am entering the intermediate category of University Pole Stars Competition. The competition is being run by Trent Pole Society to raise money for Guide Dogs UK, a really important charity which has an amazing impact on thousands of lives.

Blind and visually impaired people can really struggle with getting out of the house and doing all the activities which we take for granted. Having a guide dog can help someone experiencing vision loss continue to lead an independent and sociable life. It costs about £50,000 for Guide Dogs UK to support a dog from training to retirement and this is completely funded by donations. If you are able to please consider donating even a couple of pounds to this really worthy cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
