Story
In August 2011 my wife passed away after an 18 month battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
With some help from Emma's amazing oncologist, Muireann Kelleher and the Triple Negative Research Research team at Kings College we have been able to set this up to ensure that all funds raised will go directly to the Research Laboratory studying this difficult to treat cancer.
Triple Negative Breast Cancer desperately needs more research to improve the survival statistics of women unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with this disease and any help you can give would be much appreciated.
For the avoidance of doubt we are funding the entire trip and all money raised will go directly to the laboratory.
We will be driving 4000 miles through Spain, Morocco, The Western Sahara, across some minefields into Mauritania, then down through Senegal and into the Gambia in a 16 year old Jeep named Doris. At the end of the Rally the Jeep will be auctioned off and the money raised distributed amongst local Charities. We are leaving on the 12 December and will be returning on the 9 January. Nothing scares me more than the fact it is unlikely I will be able to get a decent cup of tea in the middle of the desert.
