Ironman ChallengeIronman UK 70.3 is the toughest 70.3 in the world, and I'm doing it on the 20th June 2010! Whats a 70.3? A 1.2 Mile swim, a 56.4 Mile bike ride and a 13.1 Mile run, and this one is all done on the wilds of Exmoor.
I'm doing it to raise money for charity. 50% will go to
Shelter Box, which responds instantly to natural and man-made disasters around the world. How? Simple. £490 buys 1 Shelter Box, which provides equipment for 10 people to live for over 6 months following a natural disaster. I visited their headquarters and saw what goes into a box, and it is amazing! Your money saves peoples lives!
Shelter Box is now celebrating ten years of disaster relief!
50% is split between four charities nominated by the Rotary Charity Team.
If you sponsor me, what's my side of the bargain? I am devoting my life to training. A normal day is a 1 Mile swim at lunch, then at least an hour and a half of cardio-vascular workout, all fitted around my job. I'm having to train open water swimming, be
professionally fitted to a triathlon bike, and compete in the
Forest of Dean Half Marathon and
3/4 Olympic triathlon as part of my preparations.
My target is £1,000. However, the more money I raise, the more all
these wonderful charities will benefit. So please help if you are able.
Thank you again for your support.
Marc.
