Story
Ken was diagnosed in 2011 with prostate cancer a few weeks before our wedding following a routine blood test where he also suggested to the GP that he was going to the toilet a bit more often than he thought was normal. He had brachytherapy in 2012 and will be five years post treatment in April. He used the prostate cancer UK website to read about his options and be fully informed about what each treatment could result in. I also phoned the helpline after a particularly bad review appointment with a locum consultant who showed little empathy or understanding in the message he delivered when Ken's PSA had started to rise a little and I wanted advice and support on what that potentially might mean. The nurse at the end of the phone was informative, patient and wonderful. We have decided that we would like to do more for Prostate Cancer UK other than just donating money for Movember or at Christmas and this walk seems an ideal opportunity. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
