Story
Thanks
to everyone for your encouragement, support and donations.
It's not too late to donate ... ...every little helps...
Being a victim of crime is never a pleasant experience for anyone, especially
if the victim is of low means, vulnerable or at risk from becoming a
repeat victim.
The majority of crime that happens within my
area (East London) is burglary, purse/handbag thefts, bogus callers and common
assault. There are more serious incidents of robbery and sexual
violence, but fortunately these are fewer in number.
With the
aid of practical items such as personal attack alarms, burglar alarms,
keypad locks, handbag alarms, we can easily prevent crime happening
again to the same person, and any money raised will help purchase these
small but very effective items.
Some crimes are more complex
requiring more expensive practical support such as high levels of
security equipment - a recent arson attack left a victim with
absolutely nothing after their home was burnt extensively.
Immediate
requirements were provisions, food and warm clothing, but then reality
set in after being moved to another home by the Council; there was no
kettle to make a cup of tea, no pots or pans, cutlery, bedding,
pillows, sheets, curtains, towels, toothbrush, soap ... the list was
endless. This is where your "little" can help!
These
very costly dilemmas are the same if anyone is fleeing their home through
domestic abuse, or serious harm.
Any practical help can have a
beneficial aim to aid the quality of life for victims of crime in the London area.
It does not resolve the problems, but it can make a
difference.
PLEASE give generously as it
could easily be you, a family member/friend or me asking for support.
This is a worthy cause and often unheard of until you become a victim of crime. Many volunteers and staff offer their time willingly and this fund will help provide the necessary items for the victims they are tirelessly helping.

How your money helps
Every contribution to the work that we do can make a big difference. For example:
£10 could pay for us to give a burglary victim information about securing their home for the future.
£25 could help us to support a young victim of bullying or harassment.
£50 could help meet a vounteer's expenses while they support a victim of domestic violence.
£200 could assist us in giving support to a child witness before, during and after a trial.
£500 could help us give ongoing support to a family recently bereaved due to a violent crime.
No matter how big or small your donation, it will make a real difference to us in our work with victims and witnesses.
And don't forget you can donate your time too through becoming a Victim Support or Witness Service volunteer.
