Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and apologies for the short notice as I've left this to the last minute.
As some of you know, my 40th Birthday is just around the corner and to mark the occasion I've booked myself a Tandem Skydive at Dunkeswell Airfield in Exeter, Devon on Friday 8th October (weather permitting). I'm paying for this out of my own pocket as it's something I've always wanted to do. However, a good friend of mine (thanks Alwen), reminded me that this would be a good opportunity to raise some money for Charity.
What a lot of you don't know is that when I was 5 years old I was severely scalded in an accident when I pulled a gas cooker on top of me, unfortunately it had 2 saucepans and a kettle boiling away on top of it at the time. I was lucky in the sense that we were living in Salisbury and it had (and still has) one of the worlds leading burns units. I spent a long time in hospital being treated and recuperating and I even had to spend Christmas there! The scalding was so extensive that they were forced to use pig skin for the skin grafts. Here I am 35 years later and thanks to the wonderful work that the Doctors and Nurses did, I have next to no scars left.
Obviously charities involved with supporting children who has suffered severe burns and scalds strikes a resounding chord. Consequently, I'd like to take this Skydive opportunity to raise money for the Childrens Burns Trust.
I know time are hard but I'd appreciate any donation that you're able to make. So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks for your support and I hope to see you all after the jump! ;-)
Best wishes,
Mark
