We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Before meeting my girlfriend I wasn't aware of Crohns and Colitis like many. After experiencing first hand the suffering IBD (Infammatory Bowel Disease) can inflict on an individual and their family I have decided to participate in a 10k run fundraiser. I aim to raise money to help with the research needed to help over 300,00 UK sufferers. Ultimately my goal is to raise awareness and to educate people about IBD, not all illnesses are visible!

IBD is a largely hidden disease, and one that causes stigma, fear and isolation - it's thought that many people with the condition go undiagnosed and suffer in silence. It doesn't have to be like this. Currently there is no known cure for IBD but together we help support those suffering. Living with IBD is no walk in the park, whilst most suffers may seem 'fine' on the outside - what's going on inside is a very different matter. Crohns and Colitis are both chronic, unpredictable and painful conditions which cause ulceration and inflammation in the digestive system.

I am very proud of how my girlfriend Rachel copes daily living with Ulcerative Colitis, enduring endless hospital trips and 8 weekly infusions. Let's pull together and raise as much money as possible so she can be proud of me too.
