Story
Hello Everyone,
On April 25th this year we will be running the Virgin London Marathon in aid of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association. As many of you are aware we have been raising money for this charity for the last three years in various events and they have kindly this year supported us as we bid to complete this event.
Hopefully by now you may be aware of the charity but for those of you who are not aware then please take the time to read this information about the charity. Tuberous Sclerosis is a condition that affects young children from birth. Children who suffer from this disease develop tumours on various organs around the body. The effects of this disease are very intense and the money we hope to raise will not only help find cures and treatment but also offer support to the families of those affected.
3 years ago my next door neighbour asked me to run the Great South Run for this cause as her youngest daughter suffers from the condition, since then we have completed 3 Great South Runs for the charity and this year we hope to take it on a step further by completing all 26.2 miles of the Marathon.
We have been training for this event since January and believe me the training is getting harder and harder. Before this event I think we were both unaware of how hard this would be to do! Not only are we running numerous miles every week, but we have also had to make major lifestyle adjustments, namely no alcohol until May!
We would be very grateful for any support you can give us for this event, we will be setting up a facebook group as well so feel free to add comments on that. But most importantly we really hope that you could donate some money to the charity. We have been challenged with raising £3000 between us, which is a massive ask. So please please please donate anything you can. It will all add up and will be very gratefully recieved.
We would also be very grateful if you could pass the message and website link to as many people as possible, Tuberous Sclerosis is a small charity that really relies on donations from events such as this. So if you can afford £1, £5 or £50 then please donate.
Many Thanks
Mark Treagust & Shaun Sillence
