Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

2020 was year for everyone to forget, but 2021 gave me a different outlook on my life.  The last 4 years I was becoming more and more unhealthy, and so I decided to start running and eating a balanced diet.

People who know me might know I've never been a runner, in fact every time I'd go for a run I'd get pains in my ankles, shins, and lower back.

Since the beginning of this year I started running with my son Brayden as he was set a running challenge by his football team.  We both enjoyed spending time together doing the challenge, to the point where I've become pain free whilst running, and losing 20lbs (SO FAR).

I wanted to take on a challenge that would continue my health journey, but I also wanted to challenge my mindset, just in case Covid-19 wasn't enough.

The longest I've ran is 10 miles, so why not do 20 half marathons (13.1 miles per run).  I'm not looking at doing any fast times, it's more the mindset of not just running one half marathon, which I can do if I really wanted to, it's having the mental mindset of completing a half marathon 20 times over in 31 days.

There's going to be pain along the way, but nothing compared to what some children should never go through.  Having children myself, I just couldn't imagine what other parents have/are going through.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in children in the UK.  KidsCan are one of the only charities in the UK solely dedicated to combating children's cancer.  KidsCan want to ensure every child diagnosed with cancer survive and thrive through to adulthood.

Help me raise some well needed funds for a charity that is local to Salford, and a charity with a goal that would be amazing to achieve.
