Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We will be riding with 33 others, 140 miles in 3 days  across the Lake District, Pennines and into Sunderland. It is called the C2C or Sea to Sea as you dip your rear wheel in the Irish Sea at Whitehaven and then your front wheel in the North Sea at Sunderland. As they say "simples"

So please dig deep and donate now.

Training update!

Well it is nearly here, hoping for dry weather and a following wind.

Not much cycle training but quite a lot of fitness training ie running. The trouble with cycling is that it takes a long time to cycle a long distance - doh! We did ride to High Wycombe and back which a total of 45 miles and just a tad hilly! We have done this twice! Hoping that our inate fitness will get us through the 3 days. The first day is the Lake District and the second the Pennines and then it is downhill to Sunderland (relatively).

Update

Finished. Cycling time about 14 hours, that includes the walks up some of the hills (mountains). This is the profile of the 2nd day http://connect.garmin.com/activity/36745623

Legs and bottom ok, surprisingly!

Thanks for the donations, Mary and Gordon
