We provide free accommodation for families to keep them close to their sick child

Story

Matthew James born 11th March @ 5.06am weighing 5lb 9oz. Died 1st April 2010 @ 2.28pm aged 21 days. Just to precious for this World.

Matthew had a heart operation shortly after he was born, which meant his mummy and daddy, Jo and Steve had to move from Manchester to Birmingham to give him the love and support he needed for his brave fight.  Ronald McDonald House at Birmingham provided their accommodation free of charge for the whole time they were there.  The charity does not receive any government funding and relies totally on donations.

We all work for the same organisation as Jo and Steve and were all devastated to hear the news last week.  We wanted to do something to mark the time Matthew was here.  We originally planned to do the Big Fun Run at Wythenshaw Park for the charity 'Little Hearts Matter', but when we asked Jo if she minded us doing this in Matthew's name, she asked us to do it for Ronald McDonald House.

I'm sure not having to worry about where to stay, how to pay for it and getting to and from the hospital meant Jo and Steve could concentrate on what was important.

Please sponsor us as we walk, jog, run or even crawl the 5k course for Matthew, for Jo and Steve and for other families who rely on the support this charity provides when they need it most.
