Story
So this is it - yet another ridiculous adventure across a vast swathe of land in a machine that I don't even think we are going to be able to sit in properly!!! This is a race that has never been undertaken before, by anyone, and frankly I am highly sceptical that we will even make it to the end (this machine is so useless that we will be arrested if we drive it on anything resembling a major highway!), but heck - it would be wrong not to have a go!!
Still, while it will be a adventure and a half, there is a serious element to this and any money that you feel able to part with will be gratefully received by our chosen charity - "Operation Smile".

This organisation provides free reconstructive surgery to children and young adults suffering from facial deformities. I never realised that clefts are the 3rd most common birth defect worldwide and it is estimated that a baby is born every 2½ minutes with a cleft which can affect their ability to breathe, eat, drink and speak. So basically, any money we can raise will really help support this relatively small organisation to continue their awesome work, and all pennies spared will be gratefully received.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on October 2nd for our leaving party, but if not then I am sure we will hold a "thank goodness we made it back in one piece" party sometime in November.
Thanks for your generosity
