Story

Hi All

Please see photo of me at the end of The Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 31st May 2015 which I finished in 2 hours 48 mins wearing my Grinch costume

I would like to say a big thank you to all those who donated and also 'Fred Perry's widow and family' who gave me this challenge to run for Macmillan Cancer Research for Fred's memory

Thanks again All

Mark

Hi All

I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research as a promise I made to the family of the late Alderman of Sandwell 'Fred Perry MBE'

I was a Care Assistant at a BUPA care home in Tipton where we looked after Fred Perry until his sad death in 2013.Fred's family still keep in touch with me to see how I am as a thank you to the care myself and my colleagues gave to him during his time at the care home

I made a promise to his widow (Irene) & daughter (Sue) that I would run either The London Marathon in 2015 (if got in) or The Edinburgh Half Marathon in 2015 and dedicate it to Fred Perry as they are supporters of Macmillan Cancer Research

The Edinburgh Half Marathon in May 2015  will be my 116th Half Marathon since I took up running in 1989. It will be my first Half Marathon in my 50's, my first in Scotland and I will also be running in fancy dress as 'The Grinch' as seen at the Birmingham 10k on Sunday 3rd May 2015

Thanks for your donation and any amount you can give would be appreciated

Thanks again

Mark a.k.a Yannon's Dad
