My running journey started in September 2016 by joining a local running clubs Couch 2 5K course. I had run in the past but not very far but this had to stop when my marriage broke down in 2011. I really hoped that by doing the running I would meet some new people and feel better about myself and my mental health problems. Wow I can honestly say I never knew how much my life would change and in such a good way.

I ran my first half marathon in October 2017 and this year I have been honoured to accept a place at one of the biggest and well known events, the Great North Run. 

This is also the start of another massive challenge for me of running 3 half marathons in 6 weeks.
