As many of you know my father, Robert Parsons, passed away on the 19th September 2009.  My mum (Veronica), sister (Clare), sister-in-law (Paula) and myself have decided, in his honour, to run the Great North Run 2010 which falls on the first anniversary of his death. 

We have decided to do this for Get Kids Going! a National charity which gives disabled children and young people - up to the age of 26 yrs - the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport.

They help promote sports for disabled children by providing them with specially built sports’ wheelchairs so they can do marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing, rugby, basketball etc. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by supporting them with their sports; training, physiotherapy, travel, design and development of sports’ wheelchairs. With your help many could become record holders and Paralympic champions!
