MK Marathon · 6 May 2013

The National Animal Welfare Trust cares for and rehomes over 1300 animals a year, from cats and dogs to smalls and sheep! Active in all the communities it serves, the Trust has 5 rescue centres in the south of the UK, supported entirely by the generosity of the animal-loving public.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Being a sucker for punishment I am running the MK marathon again on 6 May in the hope that this year the weather will be kinder so I can enjoy a road race in the dry rather than an obstacle course with flooded mud banks, being battered by gale force winds and completely drenched with incessant rain.  Don’t worry I won’t hold my breath!

This year I am running for the National Animal Welfare Trust which has four main rescue centres over England and other branches as well.  They provide housing for abandoned or mistreated animals (from cats and dogs to horses, birds and even deer) with the aim of finding new homes for them (in fact for those of you who know him, that is where we got Charlie from).  They also have a retirement home for older animals or those whose owners have become too old to care for them and this offers all the comforts of home - sofas and TVs included!  The Trust never puts down a healthy animal no matter how long they stay.

The charity receive no government or lottery funding and rely solely on sponsorship and donations so if you feel that you could sponsor me your help would be greatly appreciated.

So please dig deep and donate now.
