Story
Thank you for supporting us in our bid to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge and raise funds for The National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA). Our challenge involves scaling the 3 highest peaks in the UK, starting in Scotland with Ben Nevis (the highest peak), then Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finally Snowdon in North Wales. We will start our challenge on Saturday afternoon and aim to finish, exhausted and suffering from sore feet and lack of sleep, on Sunday afternoon. Knowing we are raising funds for such a worthy cause will give us the incentive to finish!
The National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA) is an umbrella organisation for Air Scenting Search Dogs in the UK. Its members are the Search and Rescue Dog Associations which are located throughout the UK. Each of the individual Search and Rescue Dog Associations (SARDA) is a voluntary organisation responsible for training and deployment of air scenting search and rescue dogs to search for missing persons in the mountains and high moorlands of Britain as well as the lowland, rural and urban areas. Search Dogs are used to search for missing Hill walkers or climbers, or increasingly persons missing from home, elderly and confused persons, also missing children, and victims of crime.
