Thanks for making to the time to come to my Just Giving page, hopefully to offer your support for RNID when I run the London marathon in April. This may well be my last marathon, so please dig deep and sponsor me for as much as you can. I am training with our labrador Coco (see the second picture if you are interested) who doesn't know what's hit her, preferring a more zen like lifestyle.

Deafness and hearing loss is a forgotten cause.  It is one of the senses that we value least....until we think about it. If you can't hear, you can't stay connected - but we can do something about that and people don't just have to make do or settle for a reduced quality of life.

The money I raise will go towards RNID's work in:

- preventing hearing loss and funding the search for a cure

- persuading people  to take action to have their hearing tested

- providing practical help and support to people who are deaf or hard of hearing

We reach tens of thousands of people every year:

£10 could help fund our information lines.

£25 could support our hear to help services where volunteers provide peer support to people experience hearing loss for the first time.

£50 could help puchase new equipment for our residential homes for deaf people with additional complex needs

£100 could help us expand our biomedical research programmes so that we can deliver new ways to restore hearing loss

£250 could  help us provide outreach support for someone who is deaf with learning disabilities to help prevent the need for a residential placement
