Hello and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. Please may i have a moment of your time to describe to you what i believe to be a very worthy cause .

On April 11th 2010 , Chris Ackroyd and I will be running the Paris Marathon .

The charity we have chosen to run for is the " Thommy Purbrook General Scholarship at Oundle " .For those of you who are not familiar with the charity , Thommy Purbrook was my good friend Barney's younger sister. Her career at Oundle was tragically cut short in December 2008 when she died four days before Christmas of a meningococcal infection contracted whilst on a School trip to St Petersburg. Her time at Oundle was marked by her enthusiasm, energy and determination. 

It is her parents wish to set up a scholarship at Oundle school in Thommy's name .The aim of the scholarship is to provide a child who would not otherwise be able to go to the School with the opportunity to do so, and therefore benefit from the experience as Thommy did herself. All money raised through your kind sponsorship will go towards the " Thommy Purbrook General Scholarship at Oundle " .

Those of you that know Barney and his family will realise what a brilliant cause this is , for those of you that dont i would ask you to please give generously to a charity i truly believe in .

Many of you will also know that Barney , along with three friends , will be attempting a monumentous triathlon effort from Marble Arch in London to L'Arc de Triomphe in Paris . I would ask , if at all possible , that you might take the time to have a look at his just giving page .

Chris and I understand that times are tough at the moment but we really would urge you to donate whatever you can .
