And hi to all those reading this, this year and only this year!, I will be running the Robin Hood Half marathon in aid of the Children's brain Tumour Research Centre(CBTRC). The Centre is based at the Queens Medical centre in Nottingham. The CBTRC was founded in 1997 after being funded by public donations. The CBTRC performs pioneering research into genetic abnormalities of brain tumours, novel imaging techniques and drug delivery. At the same time it excels in diagnosis, innovative treatment and raising awareness of the disease. Additional funding will enable further crucial advances to be made into understanding the cause, nature, treatment and outcomes of childhood brain tumours.

So, our story, in 2009 our son fell ill with a brain tumour (Glioblastoma multiforme). Research, treatment and an exceptional team of people helped him beat it then. In 2012 we need the help of these people again.....so a good time to remind everyone of my decision to train for and run this half marathon and raise valuable funds.

I am not like Red Nose Day, or sport Relief or Children in Need etc. This is a one time ask for your donation/pledge to raise as much money as I can, £5,000 would be nice?!! In this one off run for CBTRC.

It is a bit different, I know I am not raising money for a holiday, hospital ward, toys etc., which I appreciate are all very worthwhile and needed, BUT so is this, reading the first paragraph highlights this.
