On the 29th May I will be setting off to cycle the length of Cornwall on what can only be described as the scenic route! The 140 miles which starts at Bude will take about three days and wiggles its way to the finish at Lands End.
I am cycling as part of
‘Pedal for Pounds’ which is
a charity bike ride in aid of both
CoppaFeel! and
Macmillan Cancer Support. CoppaFeel! is a charity created by Kris, a brave woman with one sole mission: To remind young Britons to COP A FEEL.
After being diagnosed in Feb 2009 with breast cancer at only 23, Kris decided it was time to flip the switch on breast cancer awareness and bring it to the forefront of young people's attention.
One in nine women will be diagnosed with the horrid disease at some stage in their life. CoppaFeelis all about getting the message out that the sooner we get feeling, the sooner we become best chums with our boobies and the sooner we will spot any changes.
Although this will be a tough ride, I really will have no room for complaining as Kris herself will be saddling up with Maren her twin sister and riding tandem!
Pedal for Pounds is a small part of a much bigger journey for one person, James Golding. James 29, who battled with cancer only 11 month previously is taking on the challenge of a lifetime by cycling 3,500 miles from LA to Miami in just 30 days. He is undertaking the the charity ride with the aim to raise £100,000 CoppaFeel and Macmillan. The stretch across Cornwall forms part of James's 'training ride' which starts in John O' Groats and will complete at Land' End.
