We raise money to help treat & beat heart and lung disease

Story

A group of us are coming together to raise awareness and money to support the research and work around Organ Donation & Transplants. A cause close to our hearts.

EDIT; Philip has his Double Lung Transplant at Harefield Hospital on 31st March 2018. Still very early days and his journey on the road to recovery is only just beginning -however he is doing well so far and really is in the best place. Keep strong Philip! 💜

My husband Philip was born with a lung condition called Bronchiectasis. This has got progressively worse for him over the years, leading us to going on the List for a double lung Transplant.

It's been a scary journey so far, lots of tremendously difficult discussions, a huge insight into the world of organ donation & transplants, telling family & friends, or harder still telling our 2 children. Then there's the  planning for the future as best we can - be it for the "when your better" or the "if I'm no longer here" moments.

While we are forced to cover the negatives, we stay thankful for all that we have, and it's all that we have that gives us the strength to go on and keep our thoughts positive for a successful transplant and good health for many more years to come. We are blessed with such a strong and supportive network of family and friends who are right beside us!

As if Philip's health isn't a good enough cause for us - we have our youngest daughter Olivia, who sadly has the same condition and could all too easily face the same situation as her daddy is now. We also have Gillian & Michelle, who suffer from Bronchiectasis.

So you see, there are 2 reasons we are are doing this;

To raise awareness, in the hope that more of you consider being organ donors, as this will help so many others like Philip.

Also to raise valuable funds for the work and research into Lung disease & transplants which we believe can benefit Olivia, Gillian, Michelle & others in the future.

Anything you can do or give to support this worthy cause is hugely appreciated, not just by us, but by the many other families facing the same difficult times.

We completed Harefield's fun run on Sunday 10th September 2017 as a team of 26! April 25th 2018 see's us hosting our own Clubbercise Charity Event, at Marlborough School in St Albans at 7.30pm. All proceeds are going to this fantastic charity. All welcome - for more information please do get in touch or search www.worldrhythms.co.uk/payments for more information and to book a place.
