Last year when our son was 3 weeks old he caught Whooping Cough, he was so poorly that he was intubated at our local hospital and rushed to GOSH, the first night while they stabilised him we paced the floors of the parents room outside NICU, after 4 hours they managed to stabilise him on an oscillator, we didn't know how long he would be in there and what we should do. Luckily The Sick Children's Trust has a room in a house just around the corner from the hospital. It was run by the most amazingly supportive woman Tina, who everyday would ask us how our son was. We were so pleased to be close to Matt and also not to have to go home to look at all of his things that he wasn't able to use. We stayed at The Sick Children's Trust Guilford Street House for nearly 5 weeks, it was truely one of the worst 5 weeks of our lives, but without this charity it would have been much more difficult.
