Story
My arm was twisted by my good friend Matt, one of the event organisers late last year. My first thoughts were, as our thoughts often tend to be, selfish (I am too busy, I won't have the time etc). I very quickly, however, realised what a great and worthwhile cause this is. We can always find a reason NOT to do something so for once I decided to do the reverse . We are hoping to raise a serious amount of money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This nasty disease will affect 1in 8, that's 12.5%, of all women and even hits 1 in 800 men during their lifetimes. Because its incidence starts to climb so steeply in women in their 30s & 40s it can have devastating effects, on whole, often young, families as well as on the individuals diagnosed with this disease. Everyone, myself included, will have been affected by this nasty disease, directly or indirectly. In my case, both through family and friends and almost every day at work where I meet and treat women (and the occasional man) with breast cancer. It is a most worthwhile cause to raise money for so please help me achieve (and hopefully) exceed my fund raising target. Thank you and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
