In 1985 my sister Veronica tragically died after years on kidney dialyses and lived through 2 transplants. Unfortunately due to complications she died at the age of 25. I have recently been inspired to run in her memory and raise money for the Kidney Patients Asssociation after a visit to the Liverpool Royal Hospital Dialysis unit. Much progress has been made regards the technology but the emotional pressure of the families coping and the patient waiting for a transplant remain the same.
I will be running the Great North half marathon on Sept 19th - wish me luck!
